Spanish giants Barcelona have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, ahead of a proposed move to the club at the end of this season.
It was announced in March that the 32-year-old will be leaving the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires in June, after a hugely successful 10 years with the club.
According to Sky Sports News, Barcelona have held initial talks with Aguero and his agent in the last few days regarding a free transfer switch to Camp Nou.
The Catalan club are understood to be the frontrunners for the Argentine's signature, although Chelsea are also interested in the striker and are hoping that they can persuade him to remain in the Premier League.
Barcelona allegedly believe that if they can agree to keep hold of Aguero's compatriot Lionel Messi then that would increase their chances of agreeing a deal for the former Atletico Madrid man.
Aguero, who is City's club-record goalscorer with 258 strikes to his name, has won 13 trophies with the club since he joined in 2011 and he is hoping to add a fifth Premier League title and a Champions League trophy to that list later this month.
