Besiktas president Fikret Orman has claimed that talks are in place with Chelsea over a deal to sign winger Mohamed Salah.
The 22-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since joining the club in an £11m deal 12 months ago, featuring just three times in the Premier League this term.
That has led to talk linking Salah with a move away from West London this month, with Besiktas now seemingly close to landing the Egypt international.
"I was in England and held talks with Chelsea but it would be wrong to disclose who the negotiations were regarding," Orman is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
"The talks are ongoing. If I was to tell you who the transfer was regarding it could make the move more difficult."
Salah has also been tipped with a switch to Hull City before the close of the current transfer window.
