Chelsea have reportedly identified Celtic defender Josip Juranovic as a potential summer transfer target.

While the Blues have seemingly been playing catch up in the transfer market this summer, Thomas Tuchel has been able to add numerous fresh faces to his squad.

However, despite the signings of Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka and Raheem Sterling, the West Londoners remain in the hunt for more acquisitions.

When Cesar Azpilicueta agreed to pen a new contract, it appeared that Chelsea would settle for the Spaniard and Reece James as their options at right wing-back.

According to 90min, that is not the case with the West Londoners still keen to bring in another player for that area of the pitch.

Tuchel has allegedly turned his attention to Juranovic, who enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Scottish Premiership as he earned a spot in the division's Team of the Year at the end of the season.

In total, the Croatia international has contributed five goals and two assists from his 37 Celtic appearances in all competitions.

With four years remaining on Juranovic's contract, Celtic will not necessarily feel under pressure to cash in on the player this month.

Nevertheless, having cost just £2.5m last year, the Glasgow giants are aware that they can generate a huge profit should Chelsea up their interest in the 26-year-old.

The report claims that Celtic would be prepared to consider a sale if they receive a proposal in the region of £15m.

Juranovic has previously spoken of being excited for his opportunity to play in this season's Champions League, arguably a hint that he will not contemplate an exit unless he is provided with a move to another club participating in that competition.

Although Atletico Madrid have previously been linked with Juranovic, the La Liga side have since signed Nahuel Molina for £18m from Udinese.

Juranovic is also capable of deputising on the left-hand side if required, but Chelsea have already signed Marc Cucurella as competition for Ben Chilwell. body check tags ::
