Chelsea have reportedly identified James Rodriguez as a transfer target ahead of next summer's transfer window.
Following two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich, the Real Madrid attacking midfielder has impressed for Los Blancos since his return, making seven appearances in all competitions so far this term.
However, reports have suggested that Rodriguez will push to leave the Bernabeu should the La Liga side complete the signing of Christian Eriksen.
According to a report from Spain, Chelsea have already submitted an offer for the Colombian to his agent Jorge Mendes - an agent who knows the West London club very well.
Despite his good performances at Madrid, it is thought that Rodriguez is unhappy with the selection policy of Zinedine Zidane, who was the reason why the 28-year-old went on loan in the first place.
Chelsea will be free to complete transfers in the summer, having served the entirety of a one-year ban.
