Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The Senegal international kept nine clean sheets in 24 Ligue 1 outings last season as Rennes qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
Mendy still has three years left to run on his deal with the French outfit, but the 28-year-old is believed to be on the radar of Chelsea, who are eyeing up replacements for the under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga.
According to Football Insider, the Blues have touched base with Rennes over a deal for the goalkeeper, but the two clubs are a ways off reaching an agreement for Mendy.
The report claims that Chelsea are only prepared to go as high as £22m for the former Reims man, whereas Rennes are holding out for a figure of £45m.
Frank Lampard has already secured a trio of high-profile signings in Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell, while 21-year-old defender Malang Sarr has also recently made the switch to Stamford Bridge.
