Chelsea are reportedly interested in making a move for Bayern Munich midfielder and Croatia international Danijel Pranjic in January.
The former Heerenveen man, 30, is understood to be eager to test his skills in the Premier League after finding opportunities at the Allianz Arena limited under the current regime.
Meanwhile, Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is believed to see the versatile veteran – also a capable fullback – as an ideal replacement for injured midfielder Michael Essien, according to the Daily Star.
Chelsea could face competition from fellow Premier League outfit Newcastle, who are also reported to be interested in Pranjic's signature.
