Chelsea have opened talks with striker Didier Drogba over a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Ivorian, whose current deal expires at the end of the season, has reportedly been offered a one-year extension.
"His level of performance has been outstanding, helping the club and teammates," said manager Andre Villas-Boas.
"Of course, the club have to agree that players who perform are the players who should continue.
"It's an ongoing talk with him and his people."
