Chelsea and Ashley Cole are both keen to come to an agreement to secure the left-back's future at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The 31-year-old defender only has one year left on his current contract and earlier reports had suggested that he was planning to quit the club after only being offered a one-year contract extension.
However, Chelsea plan to sit down with Cole in the near future and attempt to negotiate a deal to extend his stay at the European champions, according to StandardSport.
Cole has made 250 appearance for Chelsea since he moved to the club from Arsenal in 2006.
