Chelsea are reportedly planning to make a fresh move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in the January transfer window.
The Blues are believed to have missed out on the England international in the summer as they struggled to raise the £60m fee that West Ham are after.
However, The Athletic reports that Frank Lampard remains interested in signing the holding midfielder, who is under contract with the Hammers until 2025.
Chelsea are said to be willing to match West Ham's asking price, but they will have to offload some fringe players first to help raise funds.
Lampard's men have spent around £220m this calendar year on seven new first-team players, including the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz.
Rice has played a full part in all seven of United's Premier League games so far this season.
