Chelsea have reportedly retained an interest in signing Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt at the end of the season.
Regardless of making 88 appearances in all competitions since 2019, De Ligt has not always impressed since making the switch from Ajax.
With the 22-year-old reaching the halfway point of his five-year contract, question marks remain over whether the Netherlands international will be allowed to depart the Italian giants.
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea have already decided to make an official bid for De Ligt during the summer transfer window.
While it has been previously suggested that the Blues would need to pay in excess of £80m for the player, such an outlay appears unlikely given De Ligt's contract situation and Juve's ongoing financial issues.
The report adds that De Ligt is regarded as a potential replacement for Antonio Rudiger, who is yet to extend his contract past the end of the current campaign.
