Chelsea have reportedly progressed to an advanced stage in discussions to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.

While the Blues have been linked with the Germany international for a number of months, the two clubs have struggled to reach a compromise over a fee.

However, with that hurdle having been overcome, The Guardian suggests that the Premier League giants are not far away from formally announcing the transfer.

The 21-year-old is already said to have agreed personal terms with the West Londoners, penning a contract which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2025.

Over the past 48 hours, Chelsea have announced the additions of Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr, while Thiago Silva is also expected to arrive on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
