Chelsea transfer news: Three squad players attracting interest as Blues plot defender move?

:Headline: Chelsea transfer news: Three squad players attracting interest as Blues plot defender move?:
Chelsea are reportedly ready to sell at least one of their squad players - three of which are generating interest - to help fund a move for a defender in January.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to cash in on at least one squad member in order to fund a move for a new centre-back.

Heading into the January transfer window, it appeared that only the players known to be out of the plans of Enzo Maresca would be considered for a January exit.

However, Wesley Fofana's hamstring injury being more severe than initially believed as led to the Blues being short in the middle of the defence.

According to The Telegraph, three players that have featured prominently in cup competitions are receiving interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea eyeing big-money sale

The report suggests that the West Londoners are open to cashing in on Axel Disasi if they receive a suitable offer for a player who cost £38.5m just 18 months ago.

Disasi's mistake in the 2-0 reverse at Ipswich Town before the end of the year led to Maresca replacing him with Josh Acheampong for the next game against Crystal Palace.

With the 18-year-old having impressed versus the Eagles, there is seemingly more of a willingness to allow Disasi to move elsewhere if the money is right.

Christopher Nkunku remains open to an exit from Stamford Bridge and teenager Marc Guiu got the nod over him when Nicolas Jackson was replaced in the previous fixture.

Meanwhile, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is said to be attracting interest from top clubs in the Bundesliga. Despite Chelsea being short of central midfielders due to an injury to Romeo Lavia and transfer interest in Cesare Casadei, Dewsbury-Hall is seemingly available for the right price.

Sale needed to fund Guehi move?

Over the past 36 hours, it has been widely reported that Chelsea hold an interest in re-signing Palace defender Marc Guehi, said to be valued in the region of £55m.

Chelsea's position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations means that they cannot acquire the England international without the necessary sales.

Recalling Trevoh Chalobah is the obvious cheaper alternative and one which may also be preferred by Palace when wanting to attract their desired fee for Guehi.

With Chelsea not back in Premier League action until next Tuesday, it is realistic to expect the club's recruitment to take their time in assessing their options. body check tags ::
