Chelsea have reportedly started to consider a late bid for Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish.
Tottenham Hotspur have been the favourites to sign Grealish for a number of weeks, with the North London outfit said to be prepared to pay over £20m for the attacker.
However, according to The Sun, Chelsea are ready to compete with their city rivals in the race to secure the signature of the 22-year-old.
The report claims that while Villa are no longer in any rush to sell Grealish due to their recent investment, there is an acknowledgement that some funds need to be raised in order to fulfil their FFP commitments.
Solihull-born Grealish is said to be prepared to remain at Villa Park in order to try to help his boyhood club launch another promotion bid during the upcoming campaign.
