Chelsea have reportedly decided to hold contract talks with defender Andreas Christensen.
Ahead of this season, Christensen had only made two appearances for the Blues due to spending a two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach, but the Danish international has emerged as one of Antonio Conte's key men during the current campaign.
According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea will waste little time in trying to extend the 21-year-old's stay at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his existing deal, but the Blues want to keep the versatile defender at the club beyond 2020.
In total, Christensen has made 16 starts and four substitute appearances in all competitions this season, while the player currently holds a place in the centre of Conte's back three in the absence of David Luiz.
