Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will attempt to raid former club Porto for Alvaro Pereira, according to the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old defender came close to joining the Blues in the summer, but Villas-Boas was not prepared to offer the £25m quoted.
"In August we were close to securing Alvaro Pereira and we didn't succeed. It's normal that Chelsea should be linked to Porto but turning it into reality is another thing," said Villas-Boas.
The Uruguayan joined Porto from CFR Cluj in 2009 and has made 53 league appearances for the Portuguese club.
