Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to add Real Madrid's Sami Khedira to his midfield options this summer.
According to The People, the Blues coach is keen to land the German international, weeks after completing the capture of Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas.
Khedira is now into the final 12 months of his contract with the Champions League winners, and the West London outfit are said to be willing to match his £3m-a-year salary, which he currently earns at the Bernabeu.
Chelsea also signed Nemanja Matic in January as they appeared to signal an overhaul in the heart of their midfield.
One of the high-profile midfield casualties at Stamford Bridge was England's Frank Lampard, who announced that he will leave the club after not getting a new contract.
