Chelsea are allegedly open to using Trevoh Chalobah or Ruben Loftus-Cheek in any deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The Blues are currently well stocked for goalkeepers with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Edouard Mendy, Marcus Bettinelli and Gabriel Slonina all part of the squad.
However, only Bettinelli is guaranteed to stay at Stamford Bridge in the short term, with Arrizabalaga and Mendy both being linked with transfers away from the club in the summer.
As a result, Chelsea are being frequently linked with Onana, who has established himself as the best goalkeeper in Italian football during 2022-23.
In total, the Cameroon international has made 34 appearances in all competitions, helping Inter to the Champions League semi-finals.
Inter will allegedly demand £35.4m if they are presented with solid interest in the 27-year-old's signature, a figure that Chelsea are unlikely to pay.
The Serie A giants are also reportedly not prepared to entertain the idea of Arrizabalaga being included in any proposal, leaving Chelsea to contemplate other options.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek have emerged as potential alternatives for both parties.
Chalobah recently penned a new long-term contract with the West Londoners, while he has made 19 starts and eight substitute outings in all competitions this season.
Nevertheless, Chelsea are packed with central defenders and it may be deemed that Chalobah can be sold without the need to find a replacement.
The same applies to Loftus-Cheek who has provided with very similar game time to that of Chalobah and is no more than a backup squad option at present.
Chelsea are known to have a preference to sell at least one academy graduate this summer, that avenue providing the club with pure profit as they bid to balance the books.
Other teams in Italy may enter the race for the pair if they officially become available for transfer, both players having been linked with a number of Inter's rivals in the past. body check tags ::
