Chelsea place contract talks with English striker Tammy Abraham on hold until the end of the season, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly placed contract talks with English striker Tammy Abraham on hold.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 12 times and contributing six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.

Abraham has recently been on the sidelines with an ankle problem, though, and has not actually featured for Thomas Tuchel's side in any competition since February 20.

The England international's current deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in June 2023, and there has recently been speculation surrounding his future in London.

According to ESPN, Chelsea have put contact discussions with Abraham on hold, with the two parties not expected to resume talks until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The forward could drop down the pecking order if Tuchel's side sign a new striker this summer, with Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland believed to be a leading target. body check tags ::
