Chelsea have reportedly decided to offer a new contract to Diego Costa in an attempt to fend off interest from Atletico Madrid.
During the summer, Costa was linked with a return to the Vicente Calderon, but after the decision was made to remain in West London, he has spearheaded a Chelsea side rejuvenated since the arrival of Antonio Conte.
According to The Mirror, that will lead to Costa being offered fresh terms at Stamford Bridge, despite the Spanish international still having two-and-a-half years to run on his existing deal.
The 28-year-old netted just 12 times in 28 Premier League outings last season but he has already found the back of the net nine times in 11 matches during the current campaign.
Costa's run of form has led to the Blues sitting in second place in the league table.
