Rumours that Didier Drogba is about to be released by Shanghai Shenhua have been quashed by a PR company that represents the player.
It was previously reported that financial constraints and an ownership power struggle at the Chinese club could force it to offload its top players, but such speculation has now been refuted.
Sports PR Company tweeted: "All the rumours of Didier Drogba being released by Shanghai are nonsense. He is on international duty this week."
Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were all allegedly pondering a bid for the Ivory Coast international, according to the initial report.
Drogba signed for Shanghai Shenhua earlier this summer after parting company with Chelsea.
