Didier Drogba's representation have insisted that the former Chelsea striker will join Shanghai Shenhua and has no plans to speak to Barcelona over a possible move.
Reports emerged last night claiming that the 34-year-old has a release clause in his contract with the Chinese Super League outfit that allows him to leave for free if Barcelona come calling.
A spokeswoman for the Ivorian's representatives told BBC Sport: "There are no clauses in Drogba's contract allowing him a release to another club. He's just contracted to Shanghai and there is no planned meeting between the striker and Barcelona directors."
Drogba agreed a free transfer with Shenhua last week after calling time on his career at Stamford Bridge following the club's first ever Champions League final victory.
