Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Chelsea.
After agreeing a new six-year deal with Reece James, the Blues are now prioritising new contracts for Mason Mount and Mendy.
While there is optimism that Mount will agree a new deal with the club, Mendy's contract negotiations are proving to be more difficult.
Although the Senegal international has come under criticism this term for mistakes against Leeds United and West Ham United, the Blues are still determined to renew his current deal which expires in June 2025.
However, according to the Evening Standard, Mendy has already rejected an offer from Chelsea after being presented with inferior terms to backup goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
While Kepa reportedly earns £190,000 a week, Mendy is believed to be one of the lowest earners at Chelsea after agreeing his contract when he signed from Rennes in 2020.
As well as tying Mount and Mendy down to new deals, Chelsea are also keen to resolve the futures of Jorginho and N'Golo Kante, who both have less than 12 months remaining on their contracts. body check tags ::
