Everton are reportedly in contact with Chelsea over a potential deal for Fikayo Tomori.
The 22-year-old returned to Stamford Bridge last summer after a season on loan with Derby County in the Championship and made 22 appearances in all competitions.
Tomori struggled for action in the latter stages of the 2019-20 campaign, though, and could find it even more difficult to secure regular minutes next term due to the arrival of Thiago Silva.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Everton 'have asked over Tomori' as the Toffees attempt to bring another central defender to the club before the transfer deadline.
Romano has not mentioned whether it would be a loan or permanent deal, although Chelsea are understood to be more open to the Englishman leaving on a temporary basis.
Tomori, who has only played once in the Premier League in 2020, has a contract with Frank Lampard's side until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
