The president of Fiorentina has revealed that he is "optimistic" over his chances of signing Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah on a permanent basis.
Salah, 23, impressed for the Viola during a six-month loan at Stadio Artemio Franchi last season, having struggled for first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
Fiorentina sporting director Vincenzo Guerini recently revealed that an "insane offer" was lodged for the Egyptian's services, and now president Andrea Della Valle is confident of a move materialising.
"We are working on it," he told reporters in Italy.
"It's the crucial day and I'm personally optimistic. Of course, in football anything can happen but we will see what the outcome is tonight."
Salah, who made just 13 Premier League appearances for the Blues, is contracted to the club until 2019.
