Olivier Giroud has reportedly decided that he would like Chelsea to extend his contract.
Giroud left Arsenal to move to the Blues last January, but the 32-year-old has netted just four goals from 12 starts and 20 substitute outings in the Premier League.
The France international is out of contract at the end of the campaign, and Chelsea are only prepared to offer one-year deals to players who are over 30 years of age.
However, according to The Sun, Giroud is happy for Chelsea to trigger a 12-month option in his contract in order for him to spend another season at Stamford Bridge.
Giroud is currently playing second fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain, who is favoured by head coach Maurizio Sarri and will remain on loan from Juventus until 2020.
