Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech 'to learn PSG fate today after documents error'

:Headline: Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech 'to learn PSG fate today after documents error':
Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech will reportedly learn whether his loan move to Paris Saint-Germain will go through today after a documents error on deadline day.

Chelsea attacker Hakim Ziyech will discover the fate of his proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain today following a farcical documents error, according to a report.

Having only made sporadic appearances for Graham Potter's team in the 2022-23 season so far, Ziyech was given the green light to leave the club in the January window.

Italian champions AC Milan were rumoured to have been in talks over a deal for the Morocco international, but a switch to San Siro fell through over his wage demands.

Instead, PSG initiated talks with Chelsea over a loan move for Ziyech, who jumped at the chance to sign for the French champions on deadline day.

The 29-year-old travelled to Paris for a medical on Tuesday, but Christophe Galtier's side initially struggled to come to an agreement with Chelsea over the terms of his loan.

The two clubs finally struck a deal to transfer Ziyech to the Parc des Princes for the remainder of the season, but a move was held up due to Chelsea allegedly sending over the wrong documents several times.

The Blues are also understood to have sent the documents late, meaning that while a deal was ultimately agreed between the two clubs, the formalities of Ziyech's move were not completed in time.

As a result, PSG appealed to the LFP in the hope of pushing Ziyech's move through after the deadline, and L'Equipe reports that the attacker will learn whether the move was successful on Wednesday.

The French governing body are reportedly set to meet on Wednesday morning to discuss the unprecedented circumstances, and Ziyech will be forced to see out the season with Chelsea if his PSG transfer is denied.

A separate report from The Express states that a computer system crash on the LFP's end was also to blame for Ziyech's deadline day move not going through, despite Chelsea and PSG exchanging all the necessary documents.

Ziyech had supposedly snubbed interest from Roma, RB Leipzig, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Everton due to his desire to represent PSG, who will fork out a nominal loan fee if their appeal succeeds.

The ex-Ajax man has just one assist to show from 15 games in a Chelsea shirt this season, having initially struggled to earn regular starts over the likes of Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling.

With Noni Madueke, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix also arriving at Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, Ziyech's minutes would seemingly decrease further in the second half of the campaign.

The Moroccan has a total of 14 goals and 11 assists to boast from 98 appearances in a Chelsea jersey since joining from Ajax in 2020, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup in that time.

Ziyech would be competing with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar for starts at PSG, who identified the 29-year-old as an ideal replacement for Pablo Sarabia after the Spaniard's switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers. body check tags ::
