The personal physio of Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has insisted that his client "is in exceptional fitness" despite his lack of regular football.
The 32-year-old has not been a part of the club's first-team squad this season and has been forced to train with the reserves.
However, Stephane Renaud says that the Frenchman is looking forward to leaving the club next summer.
"He is in exceptional fitness, I can assure you. He does his job the best he can, working hard and having rest. He needed that after the last few seasons with 60 matches," Renaud told France Football.
"The only problem is he doesn't play. He has one year remaining on his contract. When I go to his home, his wife and children are very happy. They can see him more often. He is far from wanting to stop his career. He remains very motivated and hopes for a last great challenge."
Malouda is expected to move to Brazil at the end of the season.
