Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling will reportedly make a decision on his future before the Citizens travel to the United States for their pre-season tour next month.

Pep Guardiola's side are due to play two friendlies against America and Bayern Munich on July 20 and July 23 respectively before facing Liverpool in the Community Shield on July 30.

Sterling's future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, with the attacker believed to be considering a move away from Etihad Stadium in the current market.

Chelsea are already said to have failed with an offer for the 27-year-old, while Barcelona, AC Milan and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Man City will know before their pre-season tour next month where the former Queens Park Rangers youngster will play his football next term.

Sterling was again an important player at club level during the 2021-22 campaign, making 47 appearances in all competitions, contributing 17 goals and nine assists in the process.

The Englishman's contract at Etihad Stadium is due to expire next June, and the Citizens allegedly do not want the forward to enter the final year of his deal and face the possibility of losing him on a free transfer.

Sterling joined Man City from Liverpool in July 2015, and he has represented the club on 339 occasions in all competitions, scoring 131 goals and registering 95 assists in the process.

The attacker has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups during his time in Manchester, playing a key role in their success.

Sterling was not a regular starter in the latter stages of last season, though, and was named on the bench for Man City's final league game of the campaign against Aston Villa.

Gabriel Jesus is likely to be on his way out of the club this summer, but Man City have boosted their attack with the signing of Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Julian Alvarez is expected to be a part of their first-team squad next season, and Jack Grealish will be looking to kick on after an underwhelming first campaign at the club.

Chelsea will be in the market for at least one new attacker this summer, with Romelu Lukaku heading back to Inter Milan on loan for the 2022-23 campaign, while Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has allegedly approved the signing of the Englishman.

Sterling provided 13 goals and six assists in 30 Premier League appearances last season, as Guardiola's side finished ahead of Liverpool to win the title. body check tags ::
