Marcos Alonso 'may have played last Chelsea game after Thomas Tuchel row'

Marcos Alonso may have reportedly played his last game for Chelsea after a "heated exchange" with head coach Thomas Tuchel on Saturday.

Members of the Chelsea dressing room reportedly feel that Marcos Alonso has played his final game for the club.

Since Ben Chilwell suffered a serious knee injury in November, Alonso has been a regular at left wing-back, acting as a solid replacement at least until the end of the season.

Against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, the Spaniard was making his ninth start in succession since the March international break, but the 31-year-old did not appear for the second half.

According to cfcnewspage owner Nathan Gissing, Alonso was involved in a "heated exchange" with Thomas Tuchel during the break which resulted in his withdrawal.

Furthermore, it is claimed that some of his teammates feel that Alonso has now played his final game in a Chelsea shirt, amid strong speculation regarding a switch to Barcelona.

Alonso, who was at Real Madrid as a youngster, is said to be favouring a transfer to Camp Nou at a time when there is just over a year left on his contract. body check tags ::
