Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will reportedly reject an initial offer from Real Madrid to sign Brazilian midfielder Ramires this summer.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the European champions are "determined" to land the 27-year-old during the transfer window.
Mourinho is said to be keen on a number of Los Blancos stars, which could see Real boss Carlo Ancelotti use one of his players as a makeweight in any deal for Ramires, but the Chelsea supremo is a firm fan of the Brazilian and is reluctant to let him go.
Ancelotti is reported to have held talks with club president Florentino Perez, asking the Spanish giants to press ahead with a move for Ramires, as well as Liverpool's Luis Suarez.
Meanwhile, one player who could be making a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge is Romelu Lukaku, who is rumoured to be attracting interest from Italian champions Juventus.
