Chelsea's hopes of signing Callum Wilson have reportedly suffered a blow as Bournemouth are ready to dig in their heels to keep hold of the striker.
The 26-year-old is a confirmed January target for Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, who is unhappy with his current striking options.
Alvaro Morata appears to be on his way out of the club, with AC Milan and Sevilla eyeing up a move, while Olivier Giroud has a return of just four Premier League goals in 29 appearance since joining 12 months ago.
According to The Mirror, however, Chelsea are unlikely to bring in Wilson to plug the gap as Bournemouth do not have any intention of selling the England international, despite recruiting Dominic Solanke from Liverpool for £19m this week.
The Cherries will persuade Wilson, the scorer of nine top-flight goals this term, to stay on for the long term rather than try his luck at a big-six club.
