Real Madrid will reportedly try to sign defensive midfielder N'Golo Kante from Chelsea at the end of the season.
Los Blancos are preparing for a big summer of transfer activity following the return of Zinedine Zidane, who is expected to spend close to £300m.
Real have already contacted Chelsea about a deal for Eden Hazard and, according to the Evening Standard, they have also made enquiries about Kante's availability.
Kante is regarded as the best player in his position anywhere in the world, but he has been played in a right-sided position under Maurizio Sarri this term.
The France international remains integral to the Blues and was recently handed a five-year deal worth £290,000 a week, but the report indicates that Real have not been put off.
Hazard is said to be Zidane's number-one target ahead of his first full campaign back in charge.
