Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly desperate to sign Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge.
The 22-year-old, who scored twice for Team GB at this summer's Olympics Games, has been given just 22 minutes of game time during the Blues' opening three Premier League matches this season.
Despite being unable to cement a place in Roberto Di Matteo's starting XI, Sturridge is likely to command a transfer fee in the region of £15m.
According to The Mirror, Rodgers is willing to meet that valuation and will attempt to offload Stewart Downing and Charlie Adam to raise funds for the move.
Everton are believed to be keen on signing Adam, but Rodgers is expected to struggle to find a buyer for Downing before Friday's transfer deadline.
