Mohamed Salah's move to Roma may be delayed due to a contract dispute with Fiorentina.
The Egyptian flew to Rome yesterday, confirmed by his agent Ramy Abbas on Twitter, to seal a reported one-year loan to Roma with an agreement that the deal be made permanent next summer.
However a dispute with the player and Fiorentina, the club he spent the second half of the season on loan with, means that he cannot officially join the capital club just yet.
According to ESPN, Fiorentina believe that Salah is due to stay for another season as part of the deal made with Chelsea in January. Abbas claims that there was a separate agreement with the Viola which stated that the 22-year-old could leave in the summer.
Fiorentina say that clause expired at the end of June and as Salah had not explicitly asked to leave, he is obliged to play for them this season.
The case may be put before FIFA, who will judge whether the transfer can be permitted.
