Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly contacted Chelsea over the availability of Juan Mata.
With Gareth Bale expected to seal his world record move to Real Madrid, despite reported interest from an unnamed second club, Spurs are looking at possible replacements for the Welshman.
Anzhi Makhachkala's attacking midfielder Willian underwent a medical at Spurs, before Chelsea confirmed that the Brazilian had opted to move to Stamford Bridge instead.
However, the Blues' signing of the Brazilian has brought Mata's future into question, and the White Hart Lane outfit have spoke to their London counterparts about his availability, according to BBC Sport.
Spurs coach Andre Villas-Boas has also reportedly lined up Roma's Erik Lamela and Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk as possible replacements for Bale.
Tottenham have already broken their transfer record twice this summer following the arrivals of Paulinho and Roberto Soldado, who joined for around £17m and £26m respectively.
