Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge could be in line for a shock return to Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old, who has scored nine goals after breaking into Andre Villas-Boas's side this season, left the Citizens for Stamford Bridge in 2009.
Sturridge has reportedly been at loggerheads with the Portuguese manager, who has mainly deployed him in a wide role for the Blues.
Roberto Mancini has now made an enquiry regarding the England international, who has two years left on his contract in West London.
The Italian has also spoken of his regret regarding his club's decision to sell him.
Chelsea are now said to be readying for talks with Sturridge.
