Chelsea are reportedly planning to extend Thiago Silva's contract until June 2022, having been impressed by the centre-back's performances during the current season.
The Brazilian arrived at Stamford Bridge last August, having left Paris Saint-Germain following the expiration of his deal.
Silva has been a regular for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign, making 27 appearances in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League.
The 36-year-old's current deal with Thomas Tuchel's side is due to expire at the end of June, but according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea want to extend the agreement until next summer.
Romano claims that Silva is 'so happy' at Stamford Bridge, while both Tuchel and the club's board 'appreciate' the South American.
The experienced defender has recently been on the sidelines with a thigh problem, but he has played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea's last two games against West Ham United and Real Madrid.
