Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has said that there is 'no chance' of Conor Gallagher returning to the club from Chelsea this summer.
The midfielder enjoyed an excellent loan spell with the Eagles in the Premier League last season, scoring eight goals and registering three assists in 34 league appearances under the Arsenal legend.
Such form prompted England manager Gareth Southgate to hand the 22-year-old his senior international debut back in November, and has since gone on to make three further appearances for his country.
After being voted the Palace fans' Player of the Year for the 2021-22 campaign, many were eager to see the midfielder return to Selhurst Park ahead of the new season.
However, with Gallagher featuring regularly under Thomas Tuchel in pre-season for Chelsea, Vieira has ruled out the possibility of him returning as things stand.
After initially laughing off the question asked about Gallagher's future, Vieira said: "At the moment I don't think there is any chance because he is a Chelsea player.
"He did fantastically well for us, but he is in pre-season with Chelsea and honestly we wish him all the best. I don't think there is a way to get him back."
Vieira oversaw an impressive debut campaign in charge of Palace last season, and has so far brought in Lens midfielder Cheick Doucoure, West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, and Derby County winger Malcolm Ebiowei during the summer transfer window. body check tags ::
