Zenit St Petersburg manager Andre Villas-Boas has stated that the club have no plans to make a January transfer move for Radamel Falcao.
The 29-year-old striker is currently at Chelsea on a season-long loan from AS Monaco, although reports had suggested that the Portuguese coach wanted to team up with him again at Zenit, having previously managed him at Porto.
However, Villas-Boas has confirmed that while he tried to sign Falcao in the summer before he joined Chelsea, a deal happening now is unlikely.
"It's difficult to bring such a player to Russia with the rules and regulations we have," Villas-Boas told ESPN. "We tried to bring him here in the summer at the start of the season, but then the rules changed a week before the season started.
"We can't bring him here because of the rules and we don't have space."
Falcao was part of the Porto side that won the Portuguese title, Portuguese Cup and the Europa League under Villas-Boas in the 2011-12 season.
