Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo went into Sunday's Premier League fixture against Bournemouth having failed to score in his first 47 appearances for the club.
Although the British-transfer-record addition was not necessarily signed from Brighton & Hove Albion for his goals, more was expected from him in an attacking sense.
However, Caicedo has now netted a strike that he will never realistically better during the rest of his career having incredibly scored from the halfway line against the Cherries.
There was initially frustration as Raheem Sterling failed to get onto a through-ball, with goalkeeper Neto doing well to dispossess the winger before making a challenge with Conor Gallagher.
That only left the Brazilian 40 yards out of his goal, though, and the shot-stopper was nowhere to be seen as the ball made its way to Caicedo.
Having taken a touch, the 22-year-old directed a perfectly-weighted shot over the entire Bournemouth backline and into the far corner, the effort dropping into the bottom corner with pinpoint accuracy.
Caicedo delivers goal-of-the-season contender
Chelsea will secure sixth place in the Premier League table if they are able to record maximum points in West London.
