Chievo have picked up their third win in four Serie A games thanks to a late 1-0 victory at struggling Cesena.
The visitors did most of the early pressing as Luigi Giorgi saw one effort kept out by Nicola Leali before another was put wide from close range.
With Chievo continuing to dominate possession, Cesena almost scored against the run of play on 28 minutes when Gregoire Defrel had his header blocked in the box.
The home side grew in confidence as the first half wore on, but they failed to take advantage six minutes before the break as Franco Brienza's drive was saved by Albano Bizzarri.
There was little in the way of action after the restart, with both teams struggling to keep their discipline during a heated encounter.
Emmanuel Cascione smashed an effort narrowly wide for Cesena on the hour before Ivan Radovanovic fired a speculative strike over the crossbar at the other end soon after.
With the game heading for a draw, the away team snatched the points with seven minutes left when Sergio Pellissier rose to head in his fourth goal of the season from Nicolas Frey's cross.
