Chievo have ended a run of four defeats in Serie A by holding Sassuolo to a goalless draw at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.

Nicola Sansone had the best chance for the visitors in a quiet first half when his low drive was tipped behind by the keeper.

Saphir Taider and Domenico Berardi both saw shots saved by the keeper as Sassuolo continued to look the more likely to score after the break.

Both teams struggled to create any clear-cut chances in the closing stages as the game finished without a goal, leaving Chievo a point adrift at the bottom of the table.
