Hellas Verona have moved up to eighth in the Serie A table courtesy of a 1-0 win over AC Chievo Verona this evening.
Luca Toni had a chance to give Verona the lead when he met Romulo's cross, but he saw his header kept out by Michael Agazzi.
They came close to finding the net on the stroke of half time when Emil Hallfredsson fired a long-range effort against the post.
After the break Agazzi kept out a close-range strike from Juan Iturbe, before saving Romulo's attempt from the edge of the box.
Verona continued to dominate and Iturbe forced the keeper to tip his powerful strike over the bar.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 65th minute through Toni, who took advantage to fire the ball home from close range after the defence had failed to clear.
Ivan Radovanovic and Cyril Thereau both saw efforts from range go narrowly wide in the closing stages, as the visitors held on to claim the three points.
