The United States is to host the Copa America in 2016, according to the head of the Mexican FA.
Femexfut president Justino Compean revealed that a "special edition" of the tournament will be held that year to commemorate its 100th anniversary.
Chile will host the Copa America in 2015, but Compean claims to have heard official confirmation that it will be contested again the following year.
"With new stadiums in Monterrey and [Guadalajara], we looked to have the tournament here," Goal.com quotes him as saying.
"But the economic issue is a strong one and at the moment, I can say that the 2016 edition will be played in the United States, while the 2015 edition will be played in Chile, that's official."
The move will see USA become the first nation outside of South America to host the competition, should the report prove accurate.
