Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli keen to avoid Brazil

Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli vows to play attacking football against the Netherlands.

Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli is targeting a first-place finish in Group B of the World Cup in the hope of avoiding Brazil in the last-16 stage of the competition.

Sampaoli's side defeated holders Spain 2-0 this evening to book their place in the next phase and set up a crunch clash with the Netherlands in their final group match.

Hosts Brazil could qualify as Group A winners if they defeat Cameroon in their final group game, paving the way for a meeting with Group B's runners-up.

"Against Holland we will have the same approach knowing we need to win to be first in our group," Sampaoli told reporters. "If we don't win against Holland we will probably have to play Brazil if they win against Cameroon.

"Considering our performances the most important thing is to play as a team - and that's why we have been so dangerous and have had such good results."

Both Chile and the Netherlands have maximum points after two games, with the Dutch claiming a superior goal difference.
