Chivas USA and San Jose Earthquakes played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their MLS clash at The Home Depot Centre.
The visitors started brightly and Steven Lenhart should have done a lot better with an early effort, but his tame shot was easily held by Dan Kennedy.
However, the Earthquakes did take the lead when Chris Wondolowski nipped in at the back post to poke home Shea Salinas's free kick from close range.
After the break, the hosts were level as Jorge Villafana's cross was turned in at the second attempt by Mario de Luna, as the ball deflected back onto him after Jon Busch had made the initial save.
Chivas took the lead minutes later as Villafana raided down the left and put in a low cross that was met by Tristan Bowen and he made no mistake in firing the ball past Busch low into the corner.
However, the home side's lead didn't last long as Cordell Cato poked the ball into the net after latching onto Salinas's cross into the penalty area.
Adam Jahn nearly found a winner late on after being put through by Wondolowski but he couldn't beat Kennedy, as both sides were forced to settle for a point.
