A lively first half between Walsall and Colchester United has ended in a 0-0 scoreline in this afternoon's League One clash at the Bescot Stadium.
The first real chance of the game fell to Colchester's Freddie Sears, whose low strike in the 11th minute smashed the base of the post and rebounded away from goal.
The woodwork was struck once again just three minutes later, when Billy Clifford's cross was met by Saddlers striker Tom Bradshaw, whose header came back off the crossbar.
Midway through the first half, the home side had another good chance, with Mathieu Manset sending a low ball through to Adam Chambers, who subsequently blasted inches wide.
Sears was United's standout player in the first half and tested the Walsall defence a few minutes later with a powerful strike that ended up being blocked as the first half ended goalless.
