How Colombia could line up against Peru

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Colombia could line up for Monday's Copa America clash with Peru.

Colombia come into Monday's Copa America clash against Peru without Porto winger Luis Diaz, as he will serve a suspension for a red card shown in the dying minutes of their goalless draw with Venezuela last time out.

Diaz has not played a key role for his nation so far in this tournament, with manager Reinaldo Rueda instead starting Edwin Cardona and Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado on the flanks.

Cardona is the only player to have found the net for Colombia so far in the tournament, as he sealed a 1-0 win over Ecuador in the opening game with a goal from an impressive free-kick routine.

Between the wingers is the impressive pairing of Porto star Mateus Uribe and Zenit St Petersburg's Wilmar Barrios, who has helped his side to two straight clean sheets with some solid performances in front of the back four.

Rueda opted to change his defence for the recent Venezuela clash, bringing Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez back into the side to reform his established partnership with Everton's Yerry Mina, and they should partner up again at the heart of the back four after a convincing clean sheet.

They will protect experienced Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina, who will look for his third Copa America clean sheet of the year in as many games.

The line should again be led by Atalanta duo Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel, after the pair hit a combined 37 goals and 19 assists in Serie A this season, helping their side to an impressive third-placed finish.

Colombia possible starting lineup: Ospina; Munoz, Mina, Sanchez, Tesilla; Cuadrado, Uribe, Barrios, Cardona; Muriel, Zapata
