Valencia have moved level on points with Atletico Madrid in the La Liga table following a 2-1 victory over Cordoba this evening.

Heldon then wasted a good chance for the hosts, which proved costly as Andre Gomes turned home Rodrigo De Paul's cross shortly before half time.

Alvaro Negredo spurned a chance from close range midway through the second half, which allowed Nabil Ghilas to level from the penalty spot in the 74th minute after Nicolas Otamendi's foul.

However, the home side were level for less than 10 minutes as Pablo Piatti lashed the ball home from inside the area to hand Valencia all three points.
