Rennes have booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France by beating Lille 2-0 on Thursday night.
The hosts looked threatening on every attack early on, but they missed a good opportunity to take the lead in the first half when Ola Toivonen failed to beat Steeve Elana after finding space in the box.
However, the home supporters were able to celebrate in the 34th minute thanks to Kamil Grosicki, who controlled Romain Alessandrini's inch-perfect cross before firing past Elana.
Lille fought back in the second half, enjoying more of the ball as they searched for an equaliser, but they wasted a great chance to level the scores when Salomon Kalou fired over the crossbar from inside the box.
The victory was secured in the final minute of normal time as Elana failed to keep out a low effort from Alessandrini, whose goal confirmed that Rennes will face Angers.
